Our goal is to help people become more prepared by giving them access to quality emergency preparedness and outdoor gear at reasonable prices and provide excellent customer service. Being avid outdoorsmen ourselves we have also sought to offer many accessories for guns, shooting, camping and spending time in the great outdoors. Along with all that gear, we've got a large selection of emergency preparedness items, bags, packs, lights, books and much more.
We aren't your stereotypical 21st century web store owners. We wanted to offer items that we know and use, because of that, many of our products reflect our passion for the outdoors. That passion wasn't something that developed overnight. We grew up in the outdoors with our fathers and grandfathers; that's where our name, Outdoor Legacy, was derived from. We are thankful for the legacy our families passed on to us and we want others to pass along those same traditions and values to their children and grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, farming, canning vegetables and tending animals is a way of life for us. We believe it is our duty and responsibility to provide for and protect our families. We want to help others do the same.
Located in the quiet little railroad town of Appleby, Texas, population 447, Outdoor Legacy Gear was created by father and son, Jack and Jason Robertson. Outdoor Legacy Gear has offices down the road from Appleby, in the small town of Nacogdoches. Nacogdoches is rich with Texas history and happens to be the oldest town in Texas. Surrounded by such rich history, it's hard to not be somewhat nostalgic for the old days; a time when life was less complicated and things moved at a slower pace.
Looking back in time and studying how people have lived for centuries made us realize that many people today are not prepared. Sure we buy car, home, health and life insurance and we save for retirement but how many of us are really prepared for a severe natural disaster or a prolonged economic crisis? Large catastrophes aside, many people aren't well prepared for a night or two without electricity, a weekend without access to fast food or the means to protect themselves if the need arises. With this in mind, we created Outdoor Legacy Gear.
